State border alignment
Ok, I know this is old news/thinking (and certainly not originated by me), but I wanted to revisit the concept of each of the 4 markings on the commemorative coins on the 4 smaller boxes lining up with state borders on the US map. A first step for me is deciding which kind of US map to look at (flat/distorted vs. spherical/accurate).
