Getting to an area that is less than .25 square miles

I don’t know how to define an acceptable area (in terms of acres or square feet/miles) for being reasonable to actually go BOTG with purpose and intent to search diligently for a box. So perhaps a first guard rail it might be helpful to establish is what is comfortable for oneself and then actually testing it out.
